On the first day of school, Mom spent the first half of the day taking Kyle to the hospital to get his scheduled MRI in relati
on to his nearly blind eye. SIDENOTE: Since then, Kyle had to have an additional emergency CT scan when he woke up one Saturday morning in horrible pain and couldn’t move his eye, he was throwing up and his head felt like it was going to explode. Off to meet the doctor (on her day off) we went and between seeing the doc, the waiting in the hospital, the CT scan and a trip to the blood lab and back again to the doctor, Mom and Kyle were gone from 8:30 am until 7:00 pm.
As we left, she said she wanted to see us back the next day (Sunday), so immediately after our first meeting, we left the other kids at church and DAD was in route to AZ., so they were flying solo. Good thing, they knew where to go eh?
Upon our arrival at the doc’s…..and a quick looksy into Kyle’s right eye, Dr. Richens was absolutely amazed at the difference from the day before. In her words, she was “just tickled at the difference.” His eye pressure on Saturday was (48) ……normal is 8-21.
54 and above is when you begin to lose PERMANENT vision and there’s no help.
THANK GOODNESS for the power of a Priesthood blessing that was given only about 90 minutes before the follow up appt. His eye pressure was at (5). I don’t think we’ll ever doubt that power….even if we get the chance to. His eye is fine and he sees great again. What a relief!!
(This really WAS the Readers Digest version)
First Day Back to School..Drama 2 (Proxy leg by Mom)
Sorry people....this is the best I can do. Kyle's a hard one to pin down and get a snapshot of. So, since I'm used to being the gunea pig of all new experiments around here....I just thou
ght that I'd let my ol' leg be the proxy for Kyle's. (ah..hem) note my secret message!K....So AFTER Kyle's MRI adventure, we were off to the Instacare to seek advice on an assumed break of Kyle's foot. (trampoline shenanigans) Sure enough it was fractured and boy was he glad to get that walking cast and a note saying that P.E. was out of the question for A few weeks. Add the girls SWOOONING over him with sympathy, and their "OOH poooor Kyle", we had ONE HAPPY BOY AROUND HERE!! LOLOL
Stay tuned to see what Mom and Lanie did once we FINALLY got rid of Kyle on his first day back to school. THAT'S NEXT!!
