The following is the caption MINUS the article that follows it. An article that I say: "YEAH BABA....YEAH. I'VE BEEN SAYING IT FOR YEARS!!"
Here it goes:
"Forget homework: It's a waste of time for elementary-school kids"
"Forget homework: It's a waste of time for elementary-school kids"
If you think about all the hours kids spend in public school to only come home to 2 more hours (sometimes more) of homework, one begins to think that homework should be outlawed. Do they not learn something in that long time frame? I for one, have said it for years and if I had a little more energy and time, I'd be on Capitol Hill as the leader of the loooooooong line of mothers that agree fully.
Here are a couple of examples of what seems to be inevitable for the household who sends the children off to be schooled 'elsewhere'. Guess it's our OWN fault huh? lol
This is the typical setting at our home most afternoons after school. "You get your homework done first....THEN you go play." Now keep in mind that mom does make exceptions sometimes cause for heaven's sake....didn't they JUST get home from all this?? Now understand that Alex is in "intermediate school" this year but that caption does still apply in my opinion. Alex is pretty good with getting all his work done and pulling multiple A's.
Baylee was pretty cheerful about homework on this particular day, but rest assured folks, mom don't have it THAT easy every day. Baylee is rockin in math this year. When asked what her favorite subject is: You get an enthusiastic "MATH!"
And of course along with the basics for Toot, we've been making trips to the library. I've been creating my own kind of homework over here intermixed with all the crazy. I so far..... am 3 books down and about 143 to go! 143 at least!! (ha ha) Is one EVER read up enough to cope with life's library? You just keep pluggin away and make the best of your homework!
So, these are my latest homework 'check-outs'. Even mom needs some knowledge.
If ya haven't seen this movie "The Other Side Of Heaven" you are missing out! The kids and I watched it Monday night for Family Home Evening while dad's in route to Texas, and we all loved it! The boys informed me that they both had seen it years ago. I had no clue. But still, they were happy to see it again. Even the teenager layed on the floor and was completely enthralled. It's a MUST SEE!
(Those of you who know me well KNOW that I am NOT photogenic!! I'd love to post a picture or two of myself but I usually look like death. Sorry. Once in awhile, it will happen, so if ya care...just hold out.)
Good news...maybe! We'll soon have our camera and then maybe, our BLOG will become less boring and LAME. We can only hope.
And let me leave you with a little food for thought:
"Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being a part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it. This is forever friendship. When you're down and the world seems dark and empty, your forever friend lifts you up in spirit and makes that dark and empty world suddenly seem bright and full. Your forever friend gets you through the hard times, the sad times and the confused times. If you turn and walk away, your forever friend follows. If you lose your way, your forever friend guides you and cheers you on. Your forever friend holds your hand and tells you that everything is going to be okay. And if you find such a friend, you feel happy and complete because you need not worry. You have a forever friend, and forever has no end."

Homework homework homework...it never ends, does it? If it's not from school, then it's cleaning the "home" or fixing the home or just making it a home....lol...
Good to hear from ya. I will keep in touch! Have fun with the homework!!! :O)
Hey miss tinkadit...just some FYI....your blog...'buildingrbridgestoo'? (and by the way, me flattered that you copied me; well close anyway) If you want that to show up as the header when ppl log onto your blog, such as I do with my "building our bridges" you can change that and then have "tinkadit" be your profile/comment identity. You can also make TITLES on top or your blog. Just go into your dashboard/settings. For instance with your latest dad/mom photo on your blog? The title could be.."where oh where have mom and dad gone?" (wink wink) just tryin to give aide. Anyway this is cool...a lonely gal likes to be informed. Happy blogging! Keep it up..I enjoy getting the scoop. Hey, how about a picture of you and Rog?
